GENERAL SCHOOL ADMINISTRATOR

Job Role

Berlitz | English Language Academy Ltd is currently seeking a General School Administrator for immediate employment.

The right candidate will join a fast-paced, dedicated team that excels at delivering a fantastic product to our agents and students from all over the world!

Duties will include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Assists the General Manager with the overall operation of the school.
  • Assists the Accreditation Officer as and when needed for the school accreditation.
  • Assists all other school departments as and when required.
  • Offers excellent customer service to our students and agents.
  • Oversees all reception and customer services duties.
  • Oversees the general maintenance and cleaning of the school premises.
  • Is responsible for all stock control and rotation.
  • Runs the internship programme and supervises all interns associated with the school.
  • Shares responsibility with the General Manager for Health & Safety, First Aid and Fire Safety.
  • Creates, sells and runs the school Leisure Department together with Operations Assistant.
  • Maintains accommodation-related files of the properties leased in the school’s name in an orderly manner.
  • Inspects the accommodation as and when needed.
  • Regularly checks student evaluation sheets and acts upon the areas of concern.
  • Updates Host Family Portfolios together with Operations Assistant
  • Makes regular visits to host families to ensure standards are being kept together with Operations Assistant.
  • Confirms airport transfers for our existing bookings (especially those staying in our residences), ensuring no one is left stranded.
  • Welcomes students on their first day and handles, registration, photos, placement tests and welcome orientation presentation.
  • Is responsible for the school emergency phone 24/7 together with Operations Assistant
  • Contributes to the improvement, development and expansion of products and services.
  • And any other duties assigned to them from time to time.

The right candidate must have:

  • Current residency in Malta.
  • Driving licence and car – preferrable
  • A good command of the English language.
  • Good IT skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, Canva).
  • The ability to communicate effectively and proactively in a customer-facing role.
  • The ability to think fast and multi-task when necessary.
  • The drive, enthusiasm and passion to be part of a busy, dynamic department in a thriving and growing English language school.

Previous experience in the English language school or tourism industries would be considered an asset.
